A lifetime’s worth of sin and guilt riddles me, it haunts me;

in my face it leers and spits, it jeers at me, it taunts me

I look over my shoulder scared yet wearily as I pass through the valley of despair

Desperate in my plight, void of all hope, past beyond the point of moral repair

Slash! The demon strikes his scythe and mars me dead; gutted on the rocky road

Redemption at last, I think to myself, as he takes my soul to its hellish abode
